Purple Roses – The Rare Roses
Rose flowers have been cultivated for the last 5,000 years. Roses are one of the most common flowering plants that have been grown to this day. Whenever the word flower is mentioned, the first thing that pops up into many people’s minds is the rose flower. Roses come in different thousands of species which include other that have been crafted by human hands. In the current day that we live in, roses come in a variety of colors. The normal color of the rose is either red or white. But these days, you can find purple roses, blue ones, pink ones, black ones etc. In short, roses have been designed to come in different colors
Blue Roses: These are a rare type of roses to be found. It is hard to achieve the blue color for roses, even when made in a horticultural laboratory. The most common places where blue roses have been used are in pop culture, television, theatre production and in music. They can be used on bone china and ceramics. They can also be seen on bed linens. They are also referred to as lavender or lilac roses. They are one of the rarest and the most visually stunning roses.
Purple Roses: Another type of rose that is rare to find are the purple roses. These are the newest types of breed in the rare roses. There is a meaning behind the purple roses i.e. they were made to symbolize enchantment. They have a lavender hue which is brought about the mix of red and blue.
Pink Roses: Pink roses have a similar meaning to purple roses. In addition to the above, they symbolize elegance, grace and bring about an expression of giving gifts. Other expressions that come along with pink roses are that of appreciation and joyfulness. They are considered are one of the earliest types of rare roses.
Black Roses: These roses cannot be found naturally, however, they are still in existence. They don’t necessarily come as black roses but a very deep, dark red color. Just as it is with funerals, the black roses symbolize moaning, bereavement and death, thus, they are mostly used in funerals.
Caring for Roses:
Despite the color of the rose, it is equally important to take care of them. Roses require plenty of water, sunlight and fertilizer to maintain their freshness. They should be pruned regularly and the bases of the flowers should be kept free of dead material and debris. When it comes to the rare roses, in many cases you will find them ready in the vase and each will have its own type of care.
Keeping Roses Fresh
In order to keep roses fresh, especially the rare ones, make sure that you immediately remove any leaves that hanging from the stems and submerge them in water. This is because once submerged, the leaves will decay and will bring about bacteria that can kill the rose flower softly. The stems of the roses should be kept under running water and trimmed at the bottom i.e. about 2cm from the bottom. The cut should be made at an angle. The roses can then be placed in a vase full of water that is mixed with preservation fluid. Roses will not do well in direct sunlight or very high temperature so these should be avoided.
